Notice for hands-on webinar by Ira Koretsky hosted by the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Storytelling for career advancement. UMD red, headshot, logos, and text

I am excited to announce a very hands-on webinar for those looking to sharpen their career tools and those interested in career advancement. It is sponsored by my good friends at the Robert H. Smith School of Business Alumni Office. Please note, this webinar is for Smith and UMD alumni only.

If you weren’t aware, I graduated with my MBA from Smith in 2000. And I have been an adjunct professor for 8 years. I teach a hands-on Public Speaking, Communication, and Storytelling course to about 70 sophomores every fall semester. Their final is a five-minute TED-Style talk on a topic of their choice.

Come join me and fellow alumni for a fast-paced, hands-on career advancement webinar. Details below.

Also, at the bottom, I included links to a variety of career advancement articles as well as a link to the category Career that lists all of our career advancement articles.

Storytelling for Career Advancement:  Tell the Stories Hiring Teams Want to Hear

Presented by: Ira Koretsky, MBA 2000
CEO, The Chief Storyteller ®
Audience:  Smith Alumni & UMD Alumni ONLY
Hands-On Career Advancement Webinar
When:  24 Mar, 5:00 pm
Hosted by:  Robert H. Smith School of Business Alumni

DESCRIPTION

Most people don’t think of themselves as a brand. Well, you are! As the CEO of “You,” what you do and don’t do, what you say and don’t say, and how others perceive you form the basis of your personal brand. When people read your resume, review your LinkedIn profile, or hear your name, what do they think of? Is the answer what you would want them to think of?

Smith and UMD alumni are invited to join a highly engaging and practical program to develop and improve the three most important parts of a “compelling You” through the lens of storytelling. Ira Koretsky will have you “thinking deliberately” about your answer to “Tell me about yourself” (elevator pitch), LinkedIn profile, and the stories you tell in your career journey. Alumni will have the opportunity to work on putting this into practice in small breakout groups.
