Backup Your LinkedIn Profile

Written by  Ira Koretsky

In light of the recent security breach at LinkedIn, today is the perfect time to backup your profile--both your contacts and your profile.

a) Back Up Your Contacts

The way to capture and store your connections or contacts is via the "Export Connections" function in LinkedIn. Scroll down this screen until you see the big orange arrow at the bottom of the picture. Locate the small text in blue, "Export Connections."

Now, go to your LinkedIn profile. Mouse over "Contacts" (third menu item from the left). Click "Connections." Scroll to the bottom right until you see "Export Connections". Click on the link and save the file to the desired folder. Done. Proceed to (b) below to back up your profile.

b) Backup up Your Profile

The way to capture and store your profile is via PDF. Scroll down the this screen until you see the big orange arrow at the bottom of the picture. Locate the small PDF icon.

Now, go to your LinkedIn profile (View Profile). Scroll down until you locate the same PDF icon. Press and your entire profile (the words) becomes a PDF.
